Assessment
Units are assessed through the use of projects, assignments and practical work on the Nescot Farm, with a range of companion and agricultural species.

Each unit has a series of pieces of coursework, and sometimes tests, to complete and these help to make up your overall grade for the unit. Successful work is graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Each piece of coursework has to be graded at least a "Pass" in order to pass the unit and each unit has to be passed in order to achieve the First Diploma qualification.

Career Progression:
The First Diploma provides a good foundation for progression onto a more advanced work-related qualification such as a National Diploma, National Certificate, or National Award in Animal Management.
