Aim of course
This one-year (four days a week)course is aimed at school leavers or anyone wishing to enter arboriculture. You will gain an excellent introduction into this expanding industry.
What will the course involve?
Students will cover a range of practical subjects including: tree climbing, pruning/dismantling, tree felling, machinery operations, and tree planting. Theory subjects will include: tree biology, pests and diseases and machinery maintenance.
What can I do afterwards?
Students may progress onto the BTEC National Diploma in Arboriculture, work as a tree surgeon, self-employment or working for a Local Authority.
Equipment Needed You will need to bring your own chainsaw protective boots. The College can provide other personal protective equipment although we recommend purchasing your own.
