Summary
This level 2 course is a practical, one year art course. Over the year students learn technical and creative skills across a very wide range of art practices. It is delivered through practical projects and helps the student to build a portfolio of work to enable them to progress to a higher level. This is a full time course and students will be expected to attend College on at least 3 days per week with 2 days home study.

Qualifications
First Diploma in Art & Design. GCSE Photography.

Progression Routes
Successful students can progress onto a variety of National Diplomas in Art and Design (equivalent to 3 A Levels).

Entry Requirements
GCSE grade D-E plus a portfolio of Art & Design and a strong interest in the subject.

Course Content
The aim of the course is to introduce students to different experiences within art and design. It is envisaged that students will build up a portfolio of work and knowledge to enable them to progress to courses at a higher level (level 3) within art and design. The students will produce work through practical studio sessions covering drawing activities, computer work using Photoshop, developing own black and white photographs, print making, history of art, graphic design and three dimensional design.
