Course Description:
This is an excellent course for ambitious and committed school leavers wishing to develop a wide range of advanced level Art and Design skills. The course also provides a sound preparation for progression to further study at Degree, Foundation Degree or
HND level in a broad range of Art and Design subjects and ultimately employment in the vibrant art and design sector.
Course Content:
· fine art (which includes: sculpture, printmaking, painting and drawing)
· 3D design
· graphic design
· surface design
· textiles
· photography
· history of art
· key skills.
Assessment:
Continuous assessment throughout the course, together with an externally-set final major project to complete in addition to the full 18 units.
Next Steps:
Entry to a Degree, Foundation Degree or HND course or employment.

Entry Requirements:
A minimum requirement of four GCSEs at grades C or above, one of which must be in an art/design subject (English would be advantageous) or GNVQ Intermediate or First Diploma in Art and Design.
You will be required to submit a good portfolio of work, which demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm for both art and design. Mature candidates without
the necessary entry qualifications, but with a strong portfolio and evidence from initial assessment of ability to work at Level 3, will be considered.
