'A' Level English Literature builds on knowledge and understanding developed at GCSE. It is an ideal choice for those who like reading and analysing novels, poetry
and plays.

What will I study?
Students will study two novels, two collections of poetry and two drama texts including a play.
A2 Level students will extend their analytical skills by studying a range of novels, poetry and plays. In addition, they will research the social, historical and political context of texts, discuss critical opinions and develop the ability to argue viewpoints.

What next?
This course is essential to those thinking about studying English Literature at Degree Level, but students who successfully complete this course may also progress on to higher education courses in Teacher Training, Public Relations, Marketing, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies and Journalism.
