Is the course for me?
This course provides you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enable you to perform manicure, pedicure, facials, makeup, eye treatments and waxing as well as covering unit related anatomy and physiology and business studies. The Beauty & Holistic Department offers a full Virtual Learning Environment for all students to access from home should they wish to do so. This will be an invaluable tool for all learners across the section to guide you through course schemes and assessment tracking. 100% Attendance for all sessions is a major requirement of this course as well as the completion of assignments, examinations and practical assessments for each practical unit. Failure to comply with these requirements may affect your achievement.

What will I learn?
The course involves practical skills in manicure, pedicure, facials, make-up, waxing and eye treatments. Aspects of Health & Safety, Employment Standards, Customer care are covered in Business Studies and reinforced in all practical sessions. Anatomy & Physiology of skin, bones, muscles and circulatory systems are also included on the course. Key Skills-COM and IT are covered in lessons, via exams and production of a portfolio. Additional costs include: - Kit approx £160, uniform, tabard & shoes approx £65.

How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed via practical assessment, internal/external exams and assignments related to the units of qualification as well as the production of a Beauty Therapy portfolio of evidence.

What can I do after the course?
You can progress onto the Beauty Therapy NVQ 3, Theatrical-Media Make-Up Diploma or Level 3 Nail Services course.
