Beauty Therapy (Massage Route) SVQ Level 3
This course is an industry standard qualification that lets you focus on a specialist area of beauty therapy. You can choose your own study route allowing you to develop skills in the area most relevant to you. In the Massage Route you will cover areas such as Swedish massage, aromatherapy, Indian head massage and electrotherapy treatments for the face and body. You will also have the opportunity to undertake artificial hair extensions as an additional course.

During the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of linked activities including visits to trade fairs and exhibitions and the chance to participate in beauty competitions, presentations and demonstrations.

You will be assessed during the course by carrying out practical treatments in the commercial salons and by completing written assessments, projects and assignments.

You are required to purchase a beauty therapy kit, appropriate protective clothing and textbook.

Further Study/Employment
You can progress to HNC or HND Beauty Therapy or there are a wide range of employment prospects from salons to health spas or cruise liners.
