Beauty Therapy NVQ Level 2 Full-Time

Course Aims:
To provide a comprehensive study of cosmetic and remedial treatments to the face, body, hands, feet and nails.

Health and Safety
Employment Standards
Promoting products and services
Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
Manicure/Pedicure
Lash/Brow treatments
Waxing
Make up treatments
Facial massage
Facial treatments
All Students must study additional Key Skills if they are not already qualified to the required standards in I.T, Maths and English.

Progression:
The course can lead to employment within the world of health and beauty therapy.

Exam:
Students are continuously assessed throughout the course in the form of practical, written and oral assessment. Students should expect to study for a minimum of 3 hours per week - home study. There is also an externally assessed test paper for Health and Safety.

Professional Appearance:
Professional appearance is of paramount importance in the salon, to create the right image to attract clientele. Females: white therapy tunic and white trousers. Low heel white court shoe, closed heel and toe. Males: white therapy tunic, black smart trousers, flat black lace-up shoes. A high standard of personal grooming. Hair must be neat and tidy, black/white accessories only. Nails must not extend beyond fingertips and be unpolished. No artificial nails. No jewellery. White cardigans only.

Other Costs:
Kit and uniform lists are available from the Beauty department and will include current costs. All Students over 19 years are required to pay exam and registration fees for all qualifications, course fees may also be payable depending on personal circumstance and employment status. Please seek advice from Student Services. Plus 15 College enrolment fee for all full-time students.

Duration:
1 Year full-time to include Key Skills, 3.5 to 4 days in College.
