Course Description
This course is designed for students who have already achieved a Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification. This qualification is essential for therapists wanting to work in the beauty industry providing advanced techniques and skills.
Working in the beauty therapy industry is both challenging and rewarding. As a beauty therapist you will need to have exceptional interpersonal skills. Experience will be gained in our commercial salon working with clients and on work experience. You will be expected to complete a work placement and must provide details of your chosen placement at the start of your course. We have very good links with local businesses who are happy to take our students on work experience.
You will benefit from our excellent industry links including Yorkshire College of Beauty Therapy, who run Craven College courses. Steiner visits the college on a biannual basis to give talks about career opportunities on board cruise ships. We have a variety of companies who will train you in current methods within the beauty industry for example St. Tropez Tanning, Fake Bake, Tooth Fairy, Dermalogica Skin Care and Ear Piercing. You will be expected to pay for a uniform and a Level 3 kit.

Work Experience
Students are expected to attend a work placement for one week prior to the Christmas break in both the 1st and 2nd Years of the course. Work placements can be chosen by the individual student, this could be in a Beauty Salon. Students are required to provide details of their chosen work placement on the first day of term.

Assessment
Continual assessment takes place throughout the year of both written and practical work. Students will produce a portfolio of evidence which will include exams, assignments, packages and evidence practical work

Trips and Enrichment Activities
You will benefit from our very good links with Yorkshire College of Beauty Therapy, who run Craven College courses.
