Course description
You will cover all basic aspects of Beauty Therapy including:

• Facial massage
• Skin care
• Cosmetic make-up
• Lash and brow treatments
• Manicure and Pedicure
• Wax depilation
• Associated anatomy and physiology
• Develop and maintain effectiveness at work
• Health and safety
• Promoting products and service to clients.
• You will also gain the following certificates:
• BTEC Award in Work Skills
• Key Skills Level 1 in IT
• You will also have the opportunity to gain certificates in Self Tanning, Tooth Fairy and retail training with Dermalogica. During the course you will also be provided with the opportunity to attend the following:
• BBC Clothes Show Live
• ExCel Professional Beauty, London
• Workshops in Self-Tanning, Tooth Fairy and Dermalogica Retail Training.
• You are required to purchase a number of items of clothing and equipment to take this course, which will be discussed at your interview. Financial help is available if needed. Please ask staff in the Hub for further details.

Final award
NVQ in Beauty Therapy at Level 2.

Entry requirements
School records should demonstrate 80% attendance. You will also need a good general education including 2 GCSE†s at C, preferably in English and Science. You should be aged 16 or over, show enthusiasm for the subject and have the ability to get on well with people.

*Students aged 16-18 will not be required to pay the full course fee, in most cases your fee will not exceed £150. Please contact us if you need more information regarding fees for full-time courses.
