This course is ideal for students looking for their first step towards a bricklaying career. You will learn the core skills and knowledge needed for the industry and builds a foundation.

Entry Requirements:

GCSEs at levels D and E

An appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy

Students will undergo an interview with a brick skills assessment.

Entry Process:
All applicants will be invited to an interview with the tutor, allowing you to find out more and check that the course is the best option for you. Interviews normally take place between January and September of the year in which the course starts.

Progression Routes:
Upon successful completion of this course, students have the option to progress to the one-year Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying (subject to acceptance by the College). Beyond this, the College offers progression routes up to Level 3, which can then lead to an Apprenticeship (or junior role), a career as a qualified tradesperson within the construction industry, self-employment or employment as a subcontractor.
