About this course
You should have one of the following: BTEC National Diploma in an appropriate subject with a Merit /Distinction profile plus three GCSEs with Grades A-C, including Maths and English Language An A Level in an appropriate subject with AS Level grades equivalent to 100 UCAS points plus three GCSEs with Grades A-C, including Maths and English Language . Applications from mature students are welcomed and will be considered on an individual basis.

This programme is aimed at students who want to work in broadcasting, web or digital media (terrestrial and satellite TV, digital channels on the web, media for interactive or mobile telephony).
Course Content:
The focus is on the production and creative areas with an emphasis on the practical skills of operating camera, sound, lighting, internet systems and the digital operations in use by industry. In addition, you will acquire experience of working with the software used for the internet, sound design and image manipulation. You will gain the skills recognised as essential by employers in the broadcast and wider media industry. The course is delivered over a maximum of three days per week and is supported by individual work experience during term and holiday periods.

Assessment is by assignment on a continuous basis throughout the course.
Progression Routes:
If you wish to continue to a BA (Hons) Degree you will be able to progress to the third year in Digital Media at Canterbury Christ Church University, subject to acceptance.
Career Options:
This course is intended to provide you with the skills necessary to enter employment in the production areas of the industry.
