You will be expected to attend between Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm

Course Description
This one year vocational course is delivered with a balanced mixture of dance and drama components. The course is designed to give you experience of different acting and dancing styles and techniques which will be covered using a range of teaching methods such as discussion, presentation, group work, demonstration and practical work.

Course Assessment
Students are assessed by a variety of methods including written coursework, portfolios of evidence and practical assignments. The assessments are to specific criteria and when successful are graded Pass, Merit or Distinction

Course Entry Requirements

• 4 GCSEs grade D and above including English
• Introductory Diploma Level 1 in Performing Arts
• For equivalent qualifications see the Entry Requirements Explained page
• All applicants must complete an initial assessment in Maths and English and attend an interview
• You will be expected to attend an audition at which you will be expected to do a performance piece

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

There will be a £ 50 studio fee for this course.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Course Progression
On successful completion students may progress on to ND Acting or ND Dance.

Course Career Prospects
After further study there are employment opportunities including stage management, acting for theatre, television or film, choreographer, teacher, dance performer.
