You are expected to attend College between Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 4.30pm.

Course Description
The BTEC Introductory Diploma in Performing Arts is designed to:

Develop a range of employability skills and techniques, understanding, personal qualities and attitudes essential for success in working life

Develop learners†ability in performing arts through effective use and combination of the knowledge and skills gained in different parts of the qualifications

Provide specialised studies directly relevant to performing arts and related sectors in which learners are working or intend to seek employment.

Provide a stepping stone into employment in the performing arts industry where some previous experience is necessary to gain initial employment.

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

There will be a £ 50 studio fee for this course.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Course Progression
Provides a suitable qualification for learners to progress on to a range of further study at Levels 1 and 2 including:
  • BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts or
  • BTEC First Diploma in Music


Course Career Prospects
After further study there are employment opportunities including stage management, acting for theatre, television or film, choreographer, teacher, dance performer.
