You will be expected to attend between Mondays to Friday 9.00 am 6.00 pm

Course Description
This two year vocational course provides the opportunity to study Acting and Performing Arts at National Diploma level. It gives the experience of different acting techniques and styles which are covered by a range of teaching methods such as discussion, presentation, group work, demonstrations and practical work.

Course Structure
Units include:
  • Drama improvisation
  • Developing the Voice for the Actor
  • Developing Physical Theatre
  • Principles of Acting
  • Devising Plays
  • Contemporary Theatre Performance
  • Applying Physical Theatre
  • Applying Acting Styles
  • Film & TV Acting
  • You will also study Key Skills which include Maths and English.


Course Assessment
Students are assessed by a variety of methods including written coursework, portfolios of evidence and practical assignments. The assessments are to specific criteria and when successful is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction

  • Adult learner with prior experience who can demonstrate a capability to pursue the course successfully


Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

There will be a £ 50 studio fee for this course.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Course Progression
Many learners will progress to a University degree level Acting course such as the BA(Hons) Contemporary Performance Practice at University Centre, Doncaster.

Course Career Prospects
Employment opportunities include performance artist, stage management, drama teacher, acting for theatre, television and film.
