What will I study?
You will study subjects relating to the health and care of people. The course is divided into units and you will need to study and pass 12 units in order to gain the full qualification.
There are 6 mandatory units:
* Equal Opportunities and Peoples Rights
* Communication
* Physical Aspects of Health
* Factors Affecting Physical Development
* Health and Care in the Early Years
* Health and Care Research.
Also, any 6 additional units may be selected from this list:
* Development of the Child
* Methods of Teaching Young Children
* Social Policy
* Social Aspects of Health and Care
* Educating People about Health
* Psychological Disabilities
* Cell Structure, Genetics and Reproduction for Health and Social Care

An additional 6 units can be studied to strengthen the qualification. You will be able to develop skills of analysis, collaboration and problem solving.

Some units are assessed via examination. Most units are assessed by means of assignments which are marked by the tutor.
