Course Description
This one year introductory course enables you to gain an insight into an exciting and diverse industry, offering opportunities for work in different situations all over the world.
The hospitality industry provides food, drink and accommodation to travellers when away from home whether they are working or on holiday. There are a variety of skills to learn, such as cooking a meal, looking after the customers, planning and running an event, and many more. These skills can be used when working in hotels, cruise ships, restaurants and can give you great job satisfaction, an interesting life and a chance to travel.
The course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in future employment or for progression to such courses as the BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality Supervision.
The course offers a choice of specialist units geared towards a variety of activities relevant to the industry. This qualification is particularly useful if you wish to explore career opportunities within the hospitality sector, whilst retaining a wider range of progression options.
You will experience a wide range of learning activities including: teamwork, short assignments and practical tasks based on realistic workplace situations.
