Attendance
You are expected to be available to attend college Monday to Thursday 9am to 5.30pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm, but your days in College may vary.

There will be the equivalent of 1 day of Self-Directed Study.

Course Description
Enter the Media World! The First Diploma in Media has been created with an insight into the rapidly expanding world of Media and Digital Communication. A strong emphasis has been placed on skills development.

During the initial period you will gain an insight into the current digital world of Media. The second stage of your course is geared towards the development of a host of new skills, from practical skills needed for video production to the creativity required for animation and digital graphics. As part of your learning experience attendance on residential visits is encouraged to help reinforce your journey into the media world.

Course Assessment
Assessment of your work will take place throughout the year with regular tutorials with feedback to ensure that you are well supported in your program of study

Course Costs
There are no course fees if you are under 19 years old on 31 August 2010. However, you may have to pay for textbooks, personal kits, uniforms, trips and personal stationery. You will be informed of these at your interview.

Course Enrichment
Activities such as trips and visits will be arranged, which are beneficial to this course and your learning. These activities are optional and additional fees will be charged to you. Details will be provided at the time of interview.

Course Progression
Students can progress to level 3 qualification such as Graphic Design, Animation, Games Design, Interactive Media, Film and Television.
