Description of course:
The First Diploma introduces learners to the work of the Uniformed Public Services and how their work affects the communities they serve. Learners are introduced to the different job types that are available within the services whilst also exploring the activities the Public Services undertake on a day to day basis. Learners will be introduced to all of the Public Services and will meet operational members from many of the Uniformed Public Services. They will also undertake a number of different enrichment activities related to the work of the services during their time on the course.

Progression opportunities and careers:
After completion of this course you may continue with your education and study on a National Certificate/ Diploma course, or opt to join one of the Public Services if you are old enough.

Entry requirements:
A minimum of 2 GCSEs grade D or above or successful achievement at a Level 1 vocational course

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.
