Other recognised UK/Overseas related FE Level 1 awards.
PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This course is designed for students who want to pursue careers in Travel and Tourism and will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
The course is made up of six units, three core units that all students take and three specialist units, which enable students to study a particular area in more depth. Work experience is an integral part of the course and all students will have to participate in this activity. On successful completion of this programme students can progress onto FE Level 3 awards at Croydon College or other institutions.
In addition to studying Key Skills the subjects covered will include:
Introduction to the Business of Travel and Tourism;
Introduction to Customer Service in Travel and Tourism;
Introduction to Marketing in Travel and Tourism;
Introduction to Tourist Destinations;
Introduction to the Travel and Tourism Industry;
Organising a Travel and Tourism Event;
Travel and Tourism Study Visit; and
Work-based Project within the Travel and Tourism Industry.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion students may wish to progress onto BTEC Diploma in Travel Operations Level 3.
