Course Description
A fantastic opportunity to study aviation based at Leeds Bradford International Airport. The course is designed to meet the needs of those who wish pursue a career in the aviation industry at supervisory level.

We have two pathways:
- A full-time 7 month programme
- A part-time evening class delivered once a week over 18 months

You will study at The Aviation Academy in high tech, professional standard training rooms with top of the range furnishings, interactive learning technology equipment, including mock airline cabin. All units are delivered by specialist tutors who have a wealth of experience within the aviation industry and who are able to guide you towards achievement of your careers aspirations.
A number of airport and airline organisations recruit directly from this course and interviews are facilitated during the programme to enable you to access jobs on completion of your studies.

Additional Qualifications Full-time students will benefit from a portfolio of additional qualifications, for example, Key Skills Communication, Public Speaking qualification (English Speaking Board), City and Guilds Award in Support Flight Operations and City and Guilds Award in Airport Check-in Services.

Course Length and Study Pattern
7 or 18 months, depending on your pathway.

Career Progression
Add further units to achieve the BTEC National Certificate (equates to 2 A levels) or BTEC National Diploma (equates to 3 A Levels)
Foundation Degree In Aviation Management and Operations
Employment, e.g. Air Cabin Crew, Ground Handling, Air Traffic Control, Commercial Pilot Training Programme and the Armed Forces

Work Experience
The course focus is preparing for employment and therefore includes both work and interview skills. During the course, you will have the opportunity to investigate the operational functions of airports and airlines - local, regional and international.

Assessment
The course is assessed by an assignment programme for each unit. Evidence for assessment is varied and reflects industry standards. You will produce a variety of written work, e.g reports, information packs and portfolios. You will participate in presentations and role plays and these are assessed by both tutors and industry specialists.

Trips and Enrichment Activities
You will take part in an overseas trip to study aviation operations and your programme will be underpinned by visits and speakers from current industry organisations. Visits may include Dublin and Thomsonfly to take part in onboard training.
