Attendance
The course runs over four days a week Monday to Friday. Three days in college and one day on vocational placement.

Course description
This course is intended to enable students to explore a range of areas within the health services. It will provide knowledge, understanding and skills required for further education or future employment in the health and care sectors.

Course Structure
The course comprises of 12 units, eight core and the other four optional units covering a wide aspect of Health & Social care.

Key skills in communication and application of number are an integral part of the course.

Course Assessment
All evidence is completed through practical written work in the form of assignments over the two year programme. Placement requires learners to complete a reflective log.

Course Entry requirements

• 4 GCSEs at grade 'C' or above, including Maths, English and Science
• For equivalent qualifications see the Entry Requirements Explained page
• All leaners must complete and initial assessment at interview
