Description of course:
The National Certificate is a two year preparation course for those with an interest in joining one of the Uniformed Public Services. Students study a mix of core and specialist units each year to make up the level 3 qualification. Units include various aspects relating to the work of the Public Services such as job roles, responsibilities and purpose, whilst the specialist units focus on areas relating to human rights, Criminal Justice System and outdoor activities. Learners will be introduced to all of the Public Services and will meet operational members from many of the Uniformed Public Services. They will also undertake a number of different enrichment activities related to the work of the services during their time on the course.

Internally assessed coursework

Progression opportunities and careers:
After completion of this course you may continue with your education and study for a degree in many subjects such as: criminology, sociology, public services and forensic science. Or you may choose to apply for a Public Services career after leaving college

Entry requirements:
A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade C or above or a pass grade at a Level 2 vocational course.

Additional qualifications studied:
All full time students will undertake a combination of additional qualifications that will enhance their study skills and those skills that will be important in employment.
