BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Sciences

Course Level: Level 3
This is a two-year Level 3 programme aimed at those students who have achieved five GCSE passes at grade C and above. It is a fast paced and demanding programme with heavy weighting on its specialist business and science content. It should also be noted that there is a large amount of science involved in this course.

What will I study?
In year one students study basic Beauty Therapy treatments, Indian Head Massage, the more advanced Nail Technology and explore Complementary Therapies.
In year two, they will study Electrical Facial and Body Treatments, Epilation and Aromatherapy.
The course includes aspects of business and science including Organisational Practices and Procedures, Marketing, Anatomy and Physiology which are taught separately by specialist tutors.
Because students are taught in our state-of-the-art salon which is open to the general public and mirrors the industry, they will be assessed not only in aspects of Hairdressing but also on punctuality and reliability.

What next?
On completion of the National Diploma, students are ideally placed to progress on to the Higher National Diploma in Related Therapies or Media Make-Up, a Foundation Degree or a Degree in Beauty Therapy or Complementary Therapies.
