Course Description
This full-time course is a progression from the First Diploma, although you may come directly on to the National Diploma.
The National Diploma provides a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the Health and Social Care Sector. You will also develop a range of Key Skills and in addition may choose to study A Level Human Biology. There are also opportunities for you to gain additional quali�cations in Information Technology and Effective Listening Skills.
You will be required to attend placement for a minimum of one day per week. This must be in a Health and Social Care setting such as a nursing home, a dentist's surgery, a chiropodist's practice, a day nursery or local authority care organisation. Tutors in college will arrange your placement but it is also possible for you to use part-time employment provided the setting is a health and social care institution and your employer is prepared to comply with college requirements.
