About this course
4 GCSEs at grade 'C' or above, or a good spread of GCSE results plus evidence of a strong vocational motivation, or a Merit grade at GNVQ, BTEC First Diploma or Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA), or an equivalent academic qualification. References will be taken. You will have the opportunity to re-take either GCSE English or Maths.

Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.
About the course:
The course includes VB Programming, Multimedia Technology, Computer Systems which includes PC Built, Website Development, End User Support, System Analysis, Database Management Systems, Communication Technology and Business Information Systems, and so is an excellent route into either skilled employment in the IT industry or University. The course runs in our state-of-the-art IT suite equipped with an extensive range of the latest hardware and software. You will be taught by an experienced and highly-qualified staff team, and much of the learning activities draw on current industrial practice. You'll be studying 18 units. We pay special attention to the needs of our learners, and so you will be allocated a tutor who will meet with you regularly to provide coaching and encouragement. There will be opportunities for peer mentoring, special workshops, team building activities, academic trips and visits within your curriculum programme.
Assessment:
You will be assessed mainly through coursework and integrated assignments.
After the course:
You can either go on to do a Degree or enter the IT industry directly. This course gives you the chance to get enough UCAS points to progress to a high quality University.
