BTEC National Diploma Music Technology

Length of Course: 2 years

Course Description: This course develops a variety of skills in relation to Music Technology and the Music Industry. Students have the benefit of utilising the Colleges' recording studio, as well as operating outside sound rigs. There are regular trips to the Pop Factory and students take an active role in the gigs that take place in the Bridgend Recreation Centre. Modules include:
  • Music Business
  • Language of Music
  • Recording
  • Production Techniques
  • Studio Techniques
  • Sequencing
  • Sampling
  • Live Sound and Midi Sequencing.


Entry Requirements:
  • Available to students with 4 GCSE passes at grade C or above including Music; where Music is not available, other musical qualifications or a strong musical ability at the interview stage will be taken into consideration or
  • A related First Diploma or
  • Mature students with relevant qualifications and/or experience.


Progression/Career Opportunities:
  • The National Diploma in Music Technology provides a practical alternative to the A Level route, and offers students progression onto a HND or Degree course or
  • Employment within the Music, Broadcast or Multimedia Industry.
