Is it right for me?
This comprehensive two year specialist qualification focuses on the more general aspects of employment within the Sports Industry as well as detailed coverage of the Outdoor Adventure Industry. The course is suited to you if you want to learn the practical aspects of outdoor activity leadership whilst gaining a level 3 qualification. The qualification is particularly suited to people considering Higher Education.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum four GCSEs at grades A* to C, including English, First Diploma at Merit Level or successful completion of the BTEC National Award in Outdoor Adventure Studies or the NCFE Certificate in Outdoor Adventure Leadership course.

What will I be learning about?
This course consists of 18 units from the National Diploma framework, including:

• Health and safety in sport
• Leadership in sport
• Equipment and facilities for Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
• Outdoor and Adventurous Expeditions
• Sport as a business
• Sports coaching

Where will it take me?
Employment within the Sports/Outdoor Adventure Industry, continuation on to the Professional Outdoor Instructor or Outdoor Adventure Management course, or Higher Education.

• BCU 2 star kayaking.
• RYA Level 2 dinghy sailing.

What materials are required?
Warm outdoor clothing, approach shoes, Kingston Maurward College Outdoor Adventure & Sports Coaching polo shirt. Stationery.
