Introduction
The BTEC National Diploma is a practical work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The course is equivalent to three A levels.

Description
There are several compulsory units including Government Policies and the Public Services, Team Leadership in the Uniformed Public Services, Citizenship, Contemporary Society and the Public Services, Understanding Discipline within the Public Services, Diversity and the Public Services, and Team Development in Public Services. The Units will be taught through practical activities, visits and lectures. There are several Optional units such as Land based activities, Crime and it's effects on Society, Responding to Emergency Service Incidents and may others which will enable all learners to experience the demands of the Public Service in an interactive environment.

Method of Study
You will study through a series of lectures and seminars. Visits and placements will be arranged to gain work experience and to explore aspects of outdoor activities. All units are assessed through assignments and an overall grade for the Diploma is awarded.

Progression
University to take a degree in Public Services Administration, Leisure Management or Social and Public Policy. Employment opportunities may be in Local Government Administration, Customs and excise, Police, Army or Paramedics
