Summary
This course is designed as a first step for people seeking a plumbing career in the Building Services Industry. It is designed to give students some basic plumbing skills and knowledge to assist them to find a plumbing apprenticeship and return to study on the NVQ 2 Plumbing scheme.

Qualifications
On successful completion of the course, students will gain a Level 1 Award in Plumbing.

Modules
The course requires the completion of various modules regarding the installation of plumbing and sanitary accommodation. Successful completion of the modules and course will include a practical and theory end assessment to consolidate all knowledge and skills.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSE'S grade A - C. It is expected in the first instance that the applicant will have a genuine interest in the Building Services Industry and each applicant will be required to attend an interview to ascertain his/her suitability for the course. The applicant will also be required to bring to the interview his/her National Record of Achievement or equivalent. Students will also be expected to demonstrate their commitment to the course and entry to the industry with the purchase of a small selection of hand tools to aid their studies. (Students will be advised at the beginning of their course).
