What will be covered in the course?
- The course is a mix of study and application and you will study and develop your skills with skilled and professional staff and also work 2 days a week in an office to demonstrate your ability to apply your training. You will study 2 mandatory units: Carry out your responsibilities at work Work within your business. You will study 2 mandatory units: Welcoming visitors Handle mail Store and retrieve information Use IT to exchange information Word processing software Make and receive telephone calls Use office equipment Ensure your own actions reduce the risk to health and safety

How is the course assessed?
Each unit is assessed through your work in an office.
Attendance and additional study hours
An Interview is required to join this course. Work experience is built into the later stages of the second year to allow for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills that they have gained. An annual optional overseas study trip is arranged as part of the course. Solihull College offers full time and part time courses for businesses and residents in Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Coventry Warwickshire and the whole of the West Midlands.
Further study by taking the Apprenticeship in Business Administration course up to level 3. This course prepares you for a career as a business administrator.
