Course Content
A commitment is required to participate in paid or voluntary work experience with a local employer to develop employment skills. This is an integral part of the assessment for the qualification and successful graduation.

This two-year course is ideal for those who wish to study Financial Services, Business Management and Accountancy. The qualification will include the professional qualifications of AAT and IFS.
It will offer students the opportunity to study a number of business functions including Marketing, Human Resources, Management, Accountancy and IT, with an emphasis on Finance.
The qualification will include:
BTEC National Certificate in Business- study units include:
  • Exploring Business Activity;
  • Investigating Business Resources;
  • Introduction to Marketing;
  • Preparing for Employment;
  • Investigating Recruitment and Selection;
  • Website Design Strategies.

Insititute of Financial Services [IFS] Certificate and Diploma
Association of Accounting Technicians [AAT] Foundation/Intermediate
- study units include:
  • Recording Income and Receipts;
  • Marking and Recording Payments;
  • Preparing Ledger Balances and Initial Trial Balances;
  • Supplying Information for Management Control;
  • Working with Computers;
  • Contributing to the Maintenance of a Healthy, Safe and Productive Working Environment;
  • Achieving Personal Effectiveness.

Year Two students all participate in an international visit which is funded by the student. A graduation ceremony is arranged by the college.
This programme also includes the widely recognised Welsh Baccalaureate.
Teaching/Assessment
Assessment is through interesting projects and practical assignments. Students will participate in activities such as 'Dragon†s Den,' mock interviews and 'Running your own Business.'
