Course Description:
This advanced level course gives you the opportunity to specialise in an important area of business that interests you most; human resources, management or marketing. All three routes contain some common elements, but each specialism is covered in depth. Whilst there is a lot of theory attached to all business subjects, all three routes are approached in a practical way and much of your learning will be done by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations.
Course Content:
Core units common to all three routes:

· Introduction to Marketing
· Exploring Creative Product Promotion
· Effective people, Communication and Information
· Investigating Recruitment and Selection
· Introduction to Accounting
· Starting a Small Business
· Understanding Health and Safety in the Workplace.
There will also be the opportunity to develop key work skills in the areas of communication, application of number and IT.
Human resource route includes:
· Understanding Aspects of Employment Law
· Career Development Planning
· Human Resource Management
· Business Ethics.

Management route includes:
· Improving Performance in the Workplace
· Managing a Business Event
· Managing Physical Resources
· Exploring Team Development.

Marketing route includes:
· An Introduction to Marketing Research
· Understanding Relationship Marketing
· Investigating Internet Marketing.
Assessment:
Assessment is by a series of internally and externally-assessed assignments and tests.
Next Steps:
At the end of this course, you will be well prepared for employment in a range of business functions. Alternatively, you could progress to a Degree-level course.
