The aim of this course is to enable young people and adults with learning difficulties to develop essential personal, social and practical skills and to increase self esteem and confidence.

Course Content

This course provides a flexible framework for the development of essential skills that you need to function effectively and independently in the community.

The course offers a variety of 32 units including:

• Developing community partipation
• Developing independent living skills
• Engaging in the world around you
• Travelling in the community.

The diploma course is made up of approximately 13 units - a total of 37 credits have to be successfully completed to achieve the diploma.

Continual assessment.

Progression

Learners will develop skills that allow them to use their leisure time productively, and there will be the opportunity to move onto other suitable College courses.
