Full Time CACHE Level 2 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Childcare and Education

Course Description:
This qualification is split into three sages; Award, Certificate and Diploma, with the Award and Certificate building towards the Level 2 Diploma. It is expected that most people will progress through the Award and Certificate to complete the Diploma in order to be able to practice as an early years practitioner. It has been designed to provide the knowledge and understanding that support competent practice. It will help you to develop many of the practical skills and competencies set out in the National Occupations Standards in Children's Care, Learning and Development at Level 2.

Unit 1 - An introduction to working with children - Introductory Task.

Unit 2 - The developing child - Assessment Task.

Unit 3 - Safe, healthy and nurturing environments for children - Multiple choice question paper.

Unit 4 - Children and play - Assessment Task.

Unit 5 - Communication and professional skills within child care and education - Assessment Task.

Unit 6 - The child care practitioner in the workplace - Practice Evidence Records and Professional Development Profiles and Reflective Journal and one of the optional units 7 - 11 Assessment Task.

Fees:
If you are aged under 19 on 31st August when your programme begins you are entitled to free tuition, provided you are a European Union national. Mature students may, in certain circumstances, also qualify for help toward the cost of fees. For more information about this and other financial support available, such as Adult Learning Grant, Education Maintenance Allowance, Local, National and College Learner Support Funds for books, equipment, childcare, travel and so on

Entry Requirement:
4 grade D or above full GCSE's including English Language / Literature which must be GCSE's and not equivalent, preferably at a grade C or above.
Introductory Health and Social Care at Distinction grade and English Language / Literature grade D, or preferably at grade C or above.
A Foundation Award at Distinction grade for ALL units, including Distinction in the exam, relevant voluntary work in a childcare setting for a minimum of 60 hours, successful completion of Level 2 Basic Skills in Numeracy and Literacy and the ability to demonstrate sufficient academic development over the course of their academic programme.
Have a good reference from school, work experience or other and a good attendance report.
A clear Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
