What will I be studying?
Your area of study will include: Craft Theory; Principles of Design; Wood Machining; Drawing; Cutting Lists; Producing Specifications; Turning; Finishing, Health & Safety Issues.

70% of your time will be given over to practical activities with the opportunity to design a piece of furniture and follow through to production. The remaining 30% will be used for theoretical studies.

You will be given the opportunity to study some of the units bilingually.

What can I do when I have successfully completed the programme?
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a Level 3 course, a BTEC National Diploma, or local or selfemployment. The Certificate is an essential requirement for entry onto the Level 3 Furniture Making course.
