What will I study?

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
You may be required to travel to your placements; however this will be kept to a minimum as much as possible and will make use of public transport links.
How will I be assessed?
The course is entirely assignment assessed and has no final exam.
What can I do afterwards?
This qualification will enable you to work with children in the UK and abroad. You could be employed in a wide range of settings, e.g. in a nursery, as a nanny, as a teaching assistant in a school, within the health service etc. This course provides you with the skills and qualifications to progress onto Higher Education to study for degrees in Teacher Training, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing etc.
Are there any additional costs involved?
The Criminal Records Bureau requires all learners to complete a Disclosure Application L3 Form on commencing the course. Staff at the college will provide guidance for completion of the form. Learners will need to provide evidence of identity, passport, driving licence or birth certificate etc. There will be an initial cost of approximately £85, to cover CRB check, text book and college t-shirt (to be worn on placement).
