Course Details

This course is the first step to becoming an electrician. Course content: 4 units: Unit 1 - Working effectively in an electrotechnical environment Unit 2 - Principles of electrotechnology Unit 3 - Application of health and safety and electrical principles Unit 4 - Installation (building and structures) Key Skills: Application of Number Level 2 Communications Level 2 ICT Level 1 Tutorials and enrichment programme. Assessment: As with all college programmes, full attendance is essential to gain all of the practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to complete the course. City and Guilds 2330 Unit 1 - online test Unit 2 - online test Unit 3 - online test and assignment Unit 4 - online test and assignment Key skills - Application of Number - test and portfolio Communications - test and portfolio ICT - test and portfolio (exemptions from the above will apply)

Qualifications required:
4 GCSEs grade C or above including Maths, English and Science. Some other relevant qualifications and/or experience may be considered, however evidence will be needed in all cases and may be subject to in-house assessment. All candidates are subject to an Initial Assessment and are enriolled on the discretion of the Tutor. All candidates must supply evidence that they have undertaken a colour blindness test and that they are absent of colour deficiency. The Ishihara colour test can be arranged with any optician.
