City & Guilds (Entry Level) Automotive Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Full Time)

Aims:
This City and Guilds Award is aimed at a wide learner group and is especially appropriate for 14-16 year olds for whom a traditional exam would not be appropriate.

Duration:
1 year Full-time August to June.

Content:
The course consists of 10 of the following units:
. Body and Interior Cleaning
. Cooling Systems
. Electrical Systems
. Engine Lubrication
. Fuel and Exhaust Systems
. Spark Ignition Systems
. Suspension and Steering Systems
. Transmission Systems
. Vehicle Braking Systems
. Vehicle Engine Operating Principles
. Wheel and Tyre Systems
Units will be assessed by defined practical tasks and oral questioning at SCQF Level 1-3

Articulation:
Candidates who achieve the qualification may use it to help them progress to a VRQ in Automotive Maintenance and Repair or further their studies with the City & Guilds 4101 Automotive Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course at Anniesland College.
