Course Aims
Acting as a bridge between secondary level and higher education, the course aims to give students the exciting, challenging, broad based educational experience necessary to assist them to progress to an Art & Design Degree, DipHE or HND course of their choice.
Special Features
Students have an exciting opportunity to see some of the best artwork in the world through organised European City visits, UK gallery visits and of course local art establishments.
Assessment Methods
A range of assessment methods are applied, group crits, student self-assessment and presentations. Formal assessment will be conducted at the end of each key stage. Students receive on-going support and feedback at all times. Students must successfully pass each stage before progression onto next.

Progression Routes
Presently 60% of students on this course are receiving Merit to distinction grades, while 40% receive Pass grades. The course holds a 100% success rate in placing students into Higher Education courses and establishments of their choice. Students can avail of a well established, extensive advice, guidance and links with HE courses and establishments which the Art & Design Department has accumulated.
