Core Units Performance Workshop Performing Arts Business Historical Context of Performance Rehearsing for Performance Performing to an audience Specialised Units Dance Performance Choreographic Principles Choreographing Dances Exploring Contact Improvisation Developing and Applying Physical Theatre Developing and Applying Contemporary Dance Techniques Developing Classical Ballet Technique Jazz Dance Tap Dance The Healthy Performer Urban Dance The BTEC National Diploma in Dance gives you the chance to experience and develop your physical skills in a range of different dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz and contemporary dance. You will also have the opportunity to extend your creative and compositional dance skills through devising, creating and performing a range of dance pieces which you will then have the opportunity to perform in the College?s Riverside Theatre. Hull College has superb facilities to support student's development including two large dance studio spaces.
Qualifications required:
4 GCSEs (grades A-C) including English and Maths. EDEXCEL (BTEC) First Diploma in Performing Arts and other related performance qualifications will be considered. Students must demonstrate skill and commitment through interview and audition.

Additional info:
On entry to the course students will be required to acquire a dance kit which will include a pair of ballet shoes (Black or beige), tap shoes, black leotard and dance trousers. It is essential each student has these for assessment purposes.
Progression:
Higher Education Dance Courses around the country, Foundation Degree in Dance at the College's Hull School of Art and Design or employment in the entertainment and performing arts industry.
