Electronics A Level (Level 3)
Course Content
This course is predominantly based on classroom lectures with an emphasis on practical work involving computer software packages and building of circuits.
Study units include:

• Introduction to Digital and Analogue Systems;
• Circuits and Components;
• Programmable Control Systems Project.

This course is equivalent to 40-120 UCAS points.
Teaching/Assessment
There is a mixture of learning experiences from theory, practice and coursework projects. Tuition includes practical studio based workshops and lectures.
For AS Level there are two 1.5 hour exams to be sat in January and May and Coursework involving programming of PIC chips for various everyday uses.
For A2 Level there are also two 1.5 hour exams to be sat in January and June and a Design Project.
Progression
A Level Electronics will provide a firm foothold for students wishing to study physics or engineering at degree level or HND level in related engineering courses. It will also provide an excellent basis for students looking to gain employment in any electronics or technological field.
