Course Description:
This course consists of a two-year National Diploma programme, within which you will complete a National Award in Engineering in year 1.
Course Content:
The Edexcel National Diploma consists of 18 units to be completed over two years and
within the first year, six of these units will comprise the National Award. It is expected that you will successfully gain the National Award in order to progress to year two of the course. This course is essentially based around classroom theory work, supplemented by practical work in specialist workshops. Sessions will be held to help with the completion of assignments and there will also be Key Skills and enrichment sessions to supplement your main course and extend your learning.
Assessment:
The National Diploma and National Award are completed by successful submission of assignment work on a unit by unit basis. Multiple-choice question papers test your understanding of the subject and you will be required to produce a portfolio.
Next Steps:
The National Award and National Diploma qualifications are both at Level 3 and are recognised and valued by employers. The National Diploma is recognised by universities and colleges as a good entry qualification for HNC, HND and Degree courses, and further progression to senior professional engineering careers.
