This course is for students living in the UK permanently whose second language is English, including asylum seekers and refugees or EU Citizens. There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but student must have an entry 3 standard of English.

Students study English in the context of child care.
This course aims to give the student practical childcare skills for future employment whilst also developing their reading, writing and spoken English skills. The course covers the following: jobs in childcare; equal opportunities; child development; health & safety; play; education; English speaking, listening, reading writing and communication plus ICT, work processing and internet.
Course Structure:
A fully integrated course with a focus on language development within the area of childcare taught by a team of specialists. Classes are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Course resources:
well equipped ESOL & IT resources. All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.

Next step:
Students progress on to Level 1 and level 2 childcare courses at South Thames College.

Fees Info
The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
