About this course
This course is for school leavers aged 16-18 years. You will need 4 GCSE passes ( A - C grades) in relevant subjects; or a related level 2 qualification.

Course content:
Contents include scientific principles, introduction to genetic engineering, biology for forensic science, chemical and physical forensic science, tragic accident investigation, introduction to forensic psychology, forensic fire investigation, ICT and Forensic science and criminal investigation procedures, forensic informatics, laboratory organization and workplace practices. The course will include visits and visiting speakers from the police and forensic psychologists. The course includes communication key skills at level 2/3.

All students have access to our fully equipped state of the art learning centre. This included free internet access.
Assessment:
Continuous assessment. All vocational units are assessed internally except for key skills communication.

The fee where stated is an 'INCLUSIVE FEE' for UK/EU students. This fee includes the tuition fee, examination fee and exam board registration fee. You may have to pay extra for materials for the course. If you are under 19 years or you are in receipt of an income related benefit the course and exam fee is FREE. Students aged 60+ years pay 70% of this fee. Students aged 19+ will also have to pay a College Registration Fee of £30 (or £20 if you receive benefit) once per academic year.Materials costs:
