Course content
This is a stimulating and varied course which focuses on the development of language skills, through speaking and listening as well as writing, in a wide range of different contexts. We aim to provide as much individual help as possible based on your own needs and interests, with special emphasis on improving the accuracy of your spelling and punctuation.
The course consists of the following:
Coursework which includes four pieces of writing.
Personal fiction.
Personal non-fiction.
Response to prose (e.g. a novel).
A range of speaking and listening activities including response to Shakespeare.
Two written exams, including questions on a pre-released booklet.

How Will I Be Assessed?
Coursework counts for 40% of the final assessment, while each of the two written exams carry 30% of the marks.
