What will I study?
A variety of literary texts including a play by Shakespeare, pre-914 poetry, an anthology of modern poetry reflecting other cultures, a novel (e.g. John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men) and a drama (e.g. J B Priestley's An Inspector Calls).
How will I be assessed?
You will take one examination (70%) and your coursework will be worth (30%).
Career Opportunities & Progression
This GCSE provides a foundation for AS and A level study in English Literature and English Language & Literature. However, the reading and other skills developed are vital in the further study of many subjects at an equivalent level.
