Is this course for you
This course is for anyone who wishes to train in the hair industry; who have achieved 3 grade A - C GCSEs (including English and Maths) or a Level 1 hairdressing qualification. It covers the practical skills you will need as a professional stylist such as cutting, styling, colouring, perming, dressing and finishing all types of hair.

How will you be assessed
Assessment of this course is on a continuous basis, with each student building a portfolio showing evidence of their understanding. You will also have to complete on-line assessments throughout the year. Practical assessments will be undertaken within the college's commercial salon.
What can you do after course
Progression to NVQ Level 3, subject to interview, or take additional qualifications in Beauty Therapy. Alternatively you may wish to enter the working environment as a Junior Stylist.
Additional information
Uniform/Kit: Because of the professional nature of this course, it is necessary for you to purchase, before the course starts, your own uniform and kit. Uniform (2 tops) £25 each approximately, hairdressing kit £170 approximately. Visits to salons, International Trade Seminars and wholesalers will be available. Key Skills/Functional Skills - you will be expected to undertake these at the appropriate level.
