Course Details
This practical, work-related course provides you with a nationally
recognised vocational qualification that can lead directly to employment in the health & care sectors. The course also offers excellent
progression routes to Higher Education in areas such as paediatric nursing, general nursing, dietetics and other medical related courses.
Student achievement is high and above the national average. In 2007, 76% of our students progressed to university and higher education.
We have a committed teaching team who have extensive experience of working in the health and social care sector. Subjects are enriched through a programme of educational visits and guest speakers.
There are no external examinations. Students are assessed in a
variety of ways, such as written assignments, projects and
presentations. You will also undertake practical work experience in 3
different health & care settings.

Progression/Careers: Students could get employment in Registered Care Homes, Hospitals, Nursing Homes & Health Centres. The majority of students progress to university & higher education to study nursing (including children†s
nursing) and other health-related courses.
Costs/Equipment: Course costs: min £50 for CRB check, plus you will need to
purchase books and pay for visits outside of College
