Health Care/Social Care Higher
This course is aimed at those who may have successfully completed the Intermediate 2 Care Course or adult returners, with life experience skills and are wishing to return to education with their objective to access University to commence towards a career in health or social care.

You will undertake a number of care specific subjects including: Values and Principles in Care, Sociology and Psychology and mental health issues. You will also have the opportunity to increase your skills in communication, numeracy and information technology. A practical placement is undertaken.

All subjects will be taught and assessed as a continuous process. A combination of workbooks, practical activities, and written assessments are used to assess the level of knowledge and understanding. You may have the opportunity to undertake externally marked projects and an external exam.

Further Study/Employment
On successful completion, you may progress to HNC Health or Social Care or Nursing.
